Installing SAND CDBMS for Windows


Installing from the Command Line

SAND CDBMS software can be installed from the command line. This type of installation requires no user interaction. Additionally, the readme file does not open automatically following a successful install, and there is no requirement to restart the system.

The command for the full ("Complete") command line installation of SAND CDBMS is the following:

msiexec /q /i "x:\SAND CDBMS.msi" NO_UI="1"

where:

Where necessary, substitute the appropriate SAND CDBMS install file name for the one listed here and elsewhere in this document.


To select the "Client" setup option (client components only are installed), include the INSTALLLEVEL=40 parameter:

msiexec /q /i "x:\SAND CDBMS.msi" INSTALLLEVEL=40 NO_UI="1"


Other custom setup types can be selected by including alternative INSTALLLEVEL values in the command line string. The possible INSTALLLEVEL values and the components they install are listed in the following table:

The syntax for a customized install is as follows:

msiexec /q /i "x:\SAND CDBMS.msi" INSTALLLEVEL=n NO_UI="1"

Note that it is also possible to uninstall SAND CDBMS from the command line, with no user interaction. To do so, execute the following command:

msiexec /q /x "x:\SAND CDBMS.msi" NO_UI="1"
