String Function Syntax and Examples


VALI( )

The VALI() function converts a string of numeric characters to an integer value. The string is rejected if it is found to contain any non-numeric characters.

Syntax:

VALI(string)


Example:

input: $5800,4500$

IMPORT @sample.dat
{

RECORD
{
field1 *,
field2 *\r\n
}
schema1.table1
{
col1 VALI(RIGHT(field1,4))
col2 VALI(LEFT(field2,4))
}

}


Results:

schema1.table1.col1 5800
schema1.table1.col2 4500
