Persistent Virtual Memory

SAND Persistent Virtual Memory (PVM) forms the core of the SAND Analytic Platform memory architecture. SAND manages capacity fluctuations in an in-memory database using all memory available. When new requirements arrive, SAND analyzes the high-value data and moves lower value data to disk. SAND maintains the lower-value data in a holding pattern, keeping it on-line and accessible and ensuring the database in-memory runs at full utilization.

PVM ensures analytic queries run as fast as possible, and guarantees users the fastest performance possible from the configuration.
