To all of our friends and associates,
As the year draws to a close, I would like to thank everyone for their interest in and support of SAND Technology in 2006. This was an eventful year for the company, with many exciting new developments — highlighting in particular the growing acceptance of SAND Technology’s new SAND/DNA product as the leading nearline solution for SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence.
Following on the initial deployment of SAND/DNA for SAP NetWeaver BI for a retail company early in the year, SAND has succeeded in quickly attracting important customers around the world in the telecommunications, utilities, government, and financial services sectors as well. We have increased our visibility in the SAP world by presenting before the “Terabyte Club” at SAP’s TechEd conference, at the recent SAP Analyst Summit, and elsewhere. We have also continued to develop our channel partnerships in various regions around the world. SAND is now very well placed to continue its expansion in the rapidly growing SAP Business Intelligence market, and we expect 2007 to be our breakout year in this area.
For all the excitement the year has brought us on the business front, I regret to say that 2006 also saw one of the saddest events in the history of the company: the recent sudden passing of our highly esteemed colleague, partner and dear friend Jerry Shattner, co-founder and executive vice president of SAND Technology. Jerry touched all of us at SAND with his generous spirit, compassion, integrity, unwavering commitment and enthusiasm for life, and will be sorely missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him.
It is in Jerry’s honor that all of us at SAND move forward into 2007, working hard to realize the vision that he helped create and to build on the success we’ve achieved as a company thus far.
Best wishes for a happy holiday season.
